As Imo North gradually inches towards zero hour for its senatorial by-election on October 31, the member, representing Ihitte-Uboma in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Michael Onyeamechi Njoku, has described the vision of the front line contender, Sir Frank Ibezim, as best option for the zone.
Ibezim had highlighted his plans to uplift rural communities in the zone through collaboration and political partnership with the state and Federal Government.
Njoku, spoke with journalists during the ongoing campaign of the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, adding that Ibezim is divine candidate, who has more vision and passion than his opponents in the senatorial race.
According to him, Ibezim had brought many federal and international interventionist agencies to Imo North even when he is yet to berth at the Red Chamber, citing the Rice Settlement and Dimeneze Central School building, among other projects attracted through his contacts.
The lawmaker predicted that Ibezim would win the by-election with wide margin as he personally did during 2019 general elections.
Also, the Caretaker Chairman of Ihitte -Uboma Local Council, Hon. Chike Olemgbe, posited that only Ibezim’s victory could affirm his capacity and appreciation for the Prosperity Government that remembered his Awuchinumo Ward through his appointment, as IMC boss, the first since inception of Ihitte Uboma from the old Etiti. Therefore, he urged the people to turn out in their numbers and vote for Ibezim on October 31.
On his part, Ibezim declared his resolve to remain in constant touch with Ihitte-Uboma communities in memory of the late Sen. Ben Uwajimogu, whose untimely death led to the coming by-election.
He also promised to work hard in attracting dire basic amenities, such as roads rural electricity, good water supply, schools and health centres to the zone, assuring further that he would continue to use his contacts with Imo State government, led by Governor Hope Uzodinma the Minister of State for Education, Hon.Nwajiuba, and the party leadership for the good of Imo North.
According to one of the political leaders of the LGA, Chief Kizito Anyanwu, the combination of Ibezim with community leaders and the political class would usher in a new era for the people. “Frank Ibezim,” he said, “is one man in a million that can be trusted with his words. His sincerity of purpose is second to none.”
Anyanwu noted that God had remembered Imo North (Okigwe) Zone through the choice of Ibezim, who has resolved to reclaim all lost glories of Okigwe people.
Several political leaders also poured encomiums on the APC candidate. One of them, Evangelist Chika Okoroike, who is the Caretaker Chairman of Isiala Mbano, stated that with the emergence of Ibezim and his with heartwarming programmes, such as concerns for the NDDC roads in the area, the opposition parties in the zone had gone on exile.
Describing Ibezim as an upright politician, who is accessible, Okoroike insisted that only the APC candidate could actualise both old and new road projects from federal agencies.
