Yobe gov. react to deadly clash between soldiers, Keke riders

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has expressed concern over the recent clash between soldiers and Keke NAPEP riders in Gashu’a town, which resulted in the tragic loss of three lives and injuries to several others.

 

 

 

 

 

Governor Buni emphasised the need for a more harmonious relationship between the military and civilians in Gashu’a, especially at a time when the state is experiencing relative peace.

 

 

 

 

Describing the incident as unfortunate and avoidable, Governor Buni lamented the loss of lives and pledged to work with military authorities to find a permanent solution to such conflicts. He stressed the importance of unity in combating common threats rather than becoming adversaries to one another.

Governor Buni highlighted the mutual responsibilities shared by both the military and residents in achieving collective success and urged for cooperation towards maintaining peace and stability in the region.

 

 

 

 

 

In addition to offering condolences to the families of the deceased, Governor Buni directed that those injured in the clash receive free medical treatment at the Specialist Hospital in Gashu’a.

 

 

 

 

 

The governor’s statement underscores the urgent need for dialogue and reconciliation to prevent further violence and promote peaceful coexistence in the community.
