Yobe Emir condoles Borno govt, citizens over murder of farmers by Boko Haram

Emir of Ngazargamu Emirate of Yobe State, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Ibn Sale, has commiserated with the Government and people of Borno State over the gruesome murder of some farmers in the state by suspected Boko Haram terrorists as reported recently.

In a statement issued by the Emir, he described the killing of the farmers as “one sad event too many”.

The statement read thus, “I wish to, on behalf of myself and the good people of Ngazargamu Emirate, Yobe state send my heartfelt condolences to the Executive Governor of Borno state Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, His Royal Highness the Shehu of Borno Alhaji (Dr.) Umar Garbai El-Kanemi and the bereaved families of the victims of the unfortunate and regrettable carnage and wanton bloodshed in Zabarmari during which dozens of innocent people, out to eke out decent and dignified living were killed.

“This is one sad event too many and we the people of Ngazargamu wish to identify with our brothers and sisters in Borno State to mourn the passage of a group of very hard working people who died in the course of laboring for their sustenance and that of their families.

“Borno and indeed the entire people of the North East have gone through a decade old insurgency which seemed to defy all attempts to curtail it despite the commendable efforts that had been put in by the federal and state governments as well as the civil community. We must not, despite the apparent difficulties, give up efforts to overcome.

“It is rather sad that as the country make gains in its desire to attain self-sufficiency in food production through the combined strategic  policies of the federal and state governments, acts of terrorism and banditry are daily becoming a clog in the wheel of progress in that regard.

“We must persevere and continue to pray for Allah’s intervention and help because even if all efforts come to naught, the ever presence of Allah stands to be our resort and our refuge against all odds.

“We pray to Almighty Allah to forgive all those who lost their lives by granting them shahada. We pray also for Allah’s grace and fortitude to the family to bear the painful and irreparable loss.”
