The Convener, Oyi Congress, Dr. Harris Chuma-Odili Harris, has said the group was formed with the aim of contributing to the development of communities in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
In a statement from the group signed by him, Chuma said the organization is a socio-political pressure group deeply concerned with the growth and rapid development of the communities, and towns in Oyi local government area.
The statement stated the group is made up of “the common people and the political class”, who will meet together to deal with political and other issues.

“The Congress is non-partisan, devoid of political party politics. Everyone is invited to participate, irrespective of political party linings. It’s time to redefine governance in and around Oyi LGA,” the statement stated.
It called on the sons and daughters of Oyi local government to support the group so they can plan, articulate and move the community forward.
