Why I want to be governor, by Dino Melaye

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kogi State for the November 11, 2023, elections, Dino Melaye, has said that says he was in the race to liberate the people of the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Omoyemi Olumudi, spokesperson of the Melaye Campaign Council, said the governorship candidate spoke when he visited Anthony Adaji, Catholic bishop of Idah diocese, in Kogi state.
Melaye said his desire to be governor “is to liberate the people of Kogi state from the stranglehold of the very insensitive and incompetent All Progressives Congress (APC)”.
The former senator claimed that the APC-led government in the state was not paying workers their salaries promptly, noting that the development is causing suffering for the people.

The PDP candidate said he has spent his political life working for the emancipation of Kogites because of his love for the people.
The statement continued, “It is a Godly injunction that workers deserve their wages. As a fact, the sweat on the workers’ brow must not dry off before his reward,” Melaye was quoted as saying.
“I have no doubts that with the guidance of eminent Kogites like you, we will emancipate Kogites from the yoke of the current government in the state.
“The only choice before us is to end the killings, suffering and fraudulent sack of our people from the public service.
