Why Emir Sanusi lost his throne, by Gov. Ganduje

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has given reasons why former Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi, lost his throne.

The governor alleged that the former emir refused to support the reforms of the state’s emirate system.

It was reported that Governor Ganduje made the statement, on Monday, June 15, at a media briefing to mark Democracy Day.

He also said the authorities in Kano would continue to probe Sanusi for alleged misconduct.

According to him, all the reforms in the state have come to stay.

He said following the exit of Sanusi, the reforms of the traditional system was going smoothly because there were no legal issues before the court as regards the reforms.

The governor accused the former emir and some elders of slowing down the reforms by challenging the process in court.
