We’ll resist attempts to compromise Imo guber poll – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has weighed into the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Imo State and warned political actors against rigging the exercise slated for November 11.
Emma Powerful, spokesperson of the pro-Biafra separatist group, in a statement on Friday, warned that the state must not be thrown into a “political crisis” during and after the election.

According to him, regardless of their non-involvement in the election, it would not just sit idly by while corrupt stakeholders continue to perpetuate evil in Imo and Igbo land.

The group also warned the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, against colluding with politicians to subvert the will of the people by compromising the election.

The spokesman said: “IPOB members are not politicians and neither partisan, but we are against any political party or government that is toxic to our people.”

He accused Governor Hope Uzodinma of playing politics with people’s lives, adding that the government was responsible for the insecurity in Imo State.
