The Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has promised that Lagos State would support the newly elected governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, by providing developmental templates and ideas that can help in developing Edo State.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu spoke when the Okpebholo visited him at the Lagos House, Marina on Saturday on a “thank you” visit for his support in winning the Edo gubernatorial election. Okpebholo was in company of the deputy governor elect, James Idahosa, Philip Shaibu and other party stalwarts.

The Governor urged Okpebholo to be magnanimous in victory and use the mandate well by extending the hand of fellowship to other contestants.

He congratulated the newly elected governor for making the All Progressives Congress, APC party great and urged him to use his mandate to transform Edo State and make the lives of the people better and meaningful.

“Your win is for all Edo and everyone will work with you to develop Edo. Lagos will support you. There is nothing wrong in copying Lagos State, you just need to copy and copy well . We will make all our agencies that we believe will contribute to the development of Edo, available.

All other contestants should come together to work with you to develop Edo State . Election is over but it is for you to get all Edo citizens together to work with you. It is when you do that that Edo can move forward,” Sanwo-Olu said.

In his remarks, Okpebholo thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for his advice and wealth of experience.

“I came here not just to thank you. I also want you to know that you shouldn’t leave me alone. We are brothers and we are APC. My message to them is there must be a winner. I am extending my hands of fellowship for them to come.out with any ideas they have for us to use to develop Edo State.

I want you to know that we are going to transform Edo to an enviable state. Edo is going to experience a new transformation. In November, we will be taking over from where Obaseki stopped and I wish him well on the remaining days of his stay in office. We will continue to seek your support and prayer, Okpebholo said.
