Leader and founder of Movement for Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, on Tuesday, told his members that Biafran state would be achieved through non-violence.
Uwuazuruike expressed satisfaction with his members for keeping hope alive in the emancipation struggle, saying that “non violence remains the only cardinal principle to achieving our independence from Nigeria” and enjoined other pro Biafra groups as a matter of principle to emulate BIM/MASSOB.
The MASSOB leader made this known to the newly-elected and appointed executives of Biafra internal government (BIG) at Ojukwu memorial library, in Owerrri, the Imo State capital.

Recall that Biafra Internal Government has been test-running inside BIM-MASSOB after its inauguration on January 1, 2020 by Chief Uwazuruike as a prelude to achieving the much-awaited Biafra sovereignty.
Uwazuruike insisted that residents of the new Biafra would not take up arms in their pursuit of actualising the sovereign nation of Biafra.
In a statement signed by the senior special assistant to BIM/MASSOB on media and publicity, Elder Chris Mocha, and made available to newsmen in Onitsha, Uwazuruike assured all that the people of Biafra were committed to a non-violent approach in breaking away from Nigeria.
Uwazuruike announced the new offices to include, the president, Prime minister; Chief Justice, Speaker of parliament, and ministers of Biafra internal government (BIG) for the 3rd Republic of Biafra.
According to Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, “One of my greatest happiness today is that Biafra we started 0n September 13,1999 as MASSOB is now a household name that is being talked about all over the world”.

“That showed that MASSOB as an organization is good manager because if MASSOB was not a good manager that sustained the tempo of non-violence of Biafra struggle. All these our sister pro-Biafran groups and people of Biafra today wouldn’t have been here or came up to talk about Biafra.
“That come rain, come sunshine, MASSOB still remained the originator of Biafra. The whole world knows and sees MASSOB as the originator of new Biafra.
“No reasonable human being can write about this modern and new Biafra history without writing about MASSOB”
“BIM/MASSOB shall continue to maintain the non-violence principle because he who holds the mantle of leadership is not known by noise making.
“Biafrans won’t fight another civil war with Nigeria, despite the level of provocation. We are very positive that we will reach the promised land without firing a gunshot”
Chief Uwazuruike said the election of the new executive officers of Biafra internal government (BIG) was in line with the democratic principles, promising to achieve new nation where the free gift of nature to man, abundant natural resources in the land, shall be used to improve the life of the people.
However, the protracted supremacy feud between the IPOB Directorate Of State, DOS, and Mr Simon Ekpa, the self styled Kanu’s disciple on Biafraland restoration, appears to have reached a crescendo.
Ekpa had recently been making scathing remarks on the DOS and it’s modus operandi to extant of aligning his position to that of ex Ijaw militant Asari Dokubo.
While the DOS had reportedly suspended the weekly Monday Sit-at-home protest, Ekpa and loyalists have sustained it to embarrassment of the DOS and associates.

Kanu has been in the custody of the Department of State Security, DSS ever since he was captured in Kenya and extraordinarily rendered back to Nigeria in June 2021.
Kanu had reportedly directed that Simon Ekpa should stand in for him as Director of Radio Biafra.
However, this order did not go well with the people at the DOS, and this appears to be genesis of the face-off between them and Ekpa.
Ekpa and associates who have been in a serious face-off with the highest decision-making organ of IPOB- Directorate of State (DOS), in a tweet on Tuesday said their struggle has entered a “liberation phase”, this won’t be deferring to Kanu, who’s incarcerated for orders.
He wrote, “We have entered the liberation phase of Biafra Nation & we are not taking orders from our leader who is incarceration.
“We must do everything to secure his unconditional release and to restore and liberate Biafra from Nigeria. Our freedom from Nigeria is nonnegotiable.”
Overwhelmed by the backlash his earlier tweet was s receiving, Ekpa who had said the struggle is now on ‘Auto pilot’ quickly made another face-saving tweet to explain what he said earlier.
“Those who do not understand this message, what it simply means is that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will not be held responsible for the actions of Biafra people as we have entered the liberation.
“So, the order of the liberation of Biafra and to secure his release cannot be used against him.”
