Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, on Tuesday, swore-in new chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Hon. David Oladapo Famuyiwa, warning the state government would not tolerate excuses not to perform from the new council boss.
It is recalled the former chairman of the council, Dr. Augustine Adeoye Arogundade died on June 2, this year.
Until his new position as the chairman, Famuyiwa was the Vice-Chairman of the council.
At the swearing-in of the new chairman which took place at Lagos House, Ikeja, Sanwo-Olu urged the new council boss to continue the legacy of his predecessor by completing ongoing projects in the council.
He eulogised the late chairman for his contributions to the development of the council and the state in general.
“It is my expectations you will sustain the legacy of the former chairman and lead the people to be law abiding. Your policies must be people oriented and improve the lives of ordinary citizens within Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA,” Sanwo-Olu charges.
“Your assignment is a delicate one at a time all hands must be on deck. It is expected you will bring a purposeful and result oriented governance. We will not condone excuses. We expect speedy execution of all programs that have been ongoing. We want to urge you to.understand the post God has bestowed on you,” he added.
The governor assured him of the state government readiness to partner with the council to rid the state of Coronavirus pandemic.
In his acceptance speech, the new chairman promised to work with the governor in providing dividends of democracy to the council.
“We shall in the remaining period of the life of our administration continue to work as a team on a path of efficient management of our resources, effective mobilisation of our people to ensure the completion of all ongoing projects and other programs of the government within the context of the development agenda of your administration,” he promised.
