The senator-elect of Imo North Senatorial District of Imo State, Sir. Frank Ibezim, has said his victory was collectively won by the zone.
Ibezim, who was yesterday issued his Certificate of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, after a tortuous legal battle, added that the focus has shifted to developing the beleaguered zone.
In a statement he personally signed, the Senator-elect said: “The journey has been for a while but of course joy comes in the morning. It’s been a long one, as we sort to ensure that the mandate of Okigwe people remained as granted.
“Through thick and thin, we persevered – for the course of developing our dear zone remains paramount and above every individualistic interest.
“Today, the 23rd of April 2021, by the issuance of Certificate of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to me, Frank Ibezim, as the Senator-elect for the Imo North Senatorial seat, we have conquered all together.”
Ibezim thanked all those that stood by him and assured them of his utmost commitment to the Imo North project.
“I am full of gratitude to you, for your trust and belief; your mandate and prayers throughout the electioneering period and litigation period, as I assure you of my total commitment to the Okigwe project. We remained together all this while; we will never part during the service. It’s all about Okigwe Senatorial zone,” Ibezim added.
