Many of the electorate in the Oke-Afa/Ejigbo Local Government Area have said they had no interest to vote in the Governorship and House of Assembly election, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
Visits to some polling units in the area showed that there were few electorate who waited for the INEC officials to arrive, unlike in the Presidential and National Assembly election.
Mrs Elizabeth Nwafor, a voter at Polling Unit 34, Adewale Adenuga/Oyebade centre, told NAN during the election that she had no interest in the election.
“I am here because I just want to come out of the house. If I am tired of standing and it is not my turn yet, I will go home and sleep,” Nwafor said.

Another voter in Unit 34, Mrs Sola Ogundare, expressed concern at the low turnout of voters, saying it was not encouraging.
“I am surprised to see few people when I came out around past 10 a.m., which is different from the situation during the Presidential Election on February 23.
“During the last election, people were struggling for numbers to vote and seats to sit, but today, everywhere is quiet,” Ogundare said.
Another at Polling Unit 36, Adewale Adenuga Centre, Mr Michael Olaniyan, said that the low turnout might be as a result of the late arrival of INEC officials and election materials.
Olaniyan said that voters complained of standing for long under the sun, waiting for the official to arrive with the materials during the Presidential and National Assembly election.
“’I think that people will come out and vote, if they see that INEC officials have come,” he said.
Another voter at Polling Unit 039, Falana/Bamigboye street junction, who opened her provision store for sales, Mrs Chika Ezeoha, said that she would likely vote because many people were not on queue.
“Whether I vote or not, who will win will win. So, I am not bothered,” Ezeoha said. (NAN)
