A former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Netherlands, Dr. Nimota Nihinlola Akanbi, has denied that her police orderly was carrying her food at a public function, in Ilorin, Kwara State, recently.
Recall that there had been a viral video footage showing a policeman, the orderly of the former envoy and now the Chairman, Governing Board of the National Secondary School Education Commission (NSSEC) carrying a food tray closely following her behind.
The Police acting Force Public Relations Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, was reported to have said, in Abuja, that the Force was probing the matter.

He was quoted to have said in a chat with newsmen that “the police officer had been identified and summoned to Abuja.
“He (the policeman) has been identified. He is coning to Abuja to meet us. We’ll ask questions from him and take necessary action.
“We need to discourage such a thing because it is embarassing the image of the Force and we can’t continue to be experiencing that kind of a thing because it is highly unprofessional”, the Force Spokesman was quoted to have said.
Defending herself and the police orderly in a statement in Ilorin, Amb. Nimota Akanbi said the police orderly was not carrying her food “as being portrayed in viral video on the social media.

According to her, tge pokice orderly was simply carrying his own food at a community engagement they both attended in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Her words; “the truth is that I allowed him ( police orderly) to pick his food. I am a teacher and a disciplinarian.”
She pleaded with Nigerians to disregard the viral video, saying it might be the handiwork of her detractors and stressed that she understood the importance and nature of work of security operatives and that she would never do anything to demean them.
