Protesters at Lekki Toll Gate were arrested on Saturday as they march in what they call #OccupyLekkiTollGate to prevent the reopening of the gate ordered by the Judicial Panel of Inquiry into the shooting that occurred at the gate in October last year and other victims of Police brutality in Nigeria.
Among those arrested is a skit maker and comedian, Debo Adebayo, popularly called Mr Macaroni. In an Instagram Live Video posted on social media, Mr. Macaroni berated the Lagos State government for attempting to reopen the gate when justice is yet to be served for victims of army shooting and police brutality.
He said it is the height of disrespect for those who died because of the shootings that occurred at the Toll Gate.
