An Assistant Inspector General of Police, Mr. Alkali Usman, on Wednesday, assumed duties at Zone 5 Command Headquarters, Benin.
The zone comprises Edo, Delta and Bayelsa states, respectively.
The Zonal Public Relations Officer, DSP Emeka Iheanacho, said until his redeployment to the zone, Usman, was the AIG in charge of Maritime Police Command, Lagos.

He had also served as the AIG Zone 4, Makurdi, AIG Federal Operations (FEDOPS) and AIG Zone 7, Command Headquarters, Abuja.
Iheanacho said Usman also held sway as Commissioner of Police in Delta and the Federal Capital Territory.
Usman took over from AIG Rasheed Akintunde, who has been redeployed to Force Headquarters, Abuja, in charge of Federal Operations. (NAN)
