President of Nigeria Pro- Wrestling Federation Prince John Uche is optimistic that the future of the mats man game in the country is very bright just as he promised that the sports will receive a boost under his watch.
According to him, the present board since its inauguration late last year has been busy mapping out strategies on how to improve the game and attract many corporate organizations which he says is key to moving the game forward.
“The present board under my leadership is working very hard to ensure that wrestling regains its lost glory in the country and by so doing attract corporate organizations to the game as is done all over the world.

“Our plan is to give our wrestlers adequate exposure and produce fighters in the mode of late former world champion Power Mike, Ben Lion Heart, John Bamidele, Power Uti and Super Armstrong who all did the country proud in the sports at various times,” he said.
The Federation boss was optimistic that with adequate exposure and corporate support, the country’s fighters will shake the world of wrestling even as he promised to set up wrestling academies that will help in talent discovery in the country.
“We have good and determined wrestlers who can stand their own at any time but lack of adequate exposure and financial support is hindering their progress in the game. I believe that with adequate exposure and a good training environment, our wrestlers will dominate both the WWF and Wrestlemania and we’re working towards that. It will also interest you to know that we’ve plans to set up wrestling academies as is done in developed countries of the world to help in talent discovery. Those discovered will be encouraged to combine wrestling with education and in the end, they will be nurtured to become future world champions,” he concluded.
