Operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command have arrested two men for allegedly raping and blackmailing their victims.
According to the Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Police Command, Sunday Abutu, the suspects were arrested, following the formal complaint of one of their victims to the police.
Abutu explained that the Command’s JWC of the State CID received a complaint from the victim (name withheld), aged 20 years, that one Anthony Oluwatosin Adedokun, 40, of Ajebamidele Area, Ado-Ekiti raped her in his apartment with his friend, Ayoola Talwo Ayodele, 44, who is said to be a timber contractor in the Agric Olope Area of the state capital, Ado-Ekiti.

The police spokesman said, “Police investigation revealed that the victim and Anthony Oluwatosin Adedokun met on Facebook and started a relationship sometime in 2021. The suspect, Adedokun, presented himself to her as a policeman who can assist her to join the Nigeria Police Force.
“In the process, the victim solicited for a financial help of N10, 000 from Adedokun who obliged but insisted that the victim must come to his house in Ado-Ekiti to get the money.
“Further investigation revealed that the victim decided to visit Anthony Oluwatosin Adedokun in his house on January 17, 2022 and the suspect decided to take her to the house of Ayodele where he had carnal knowledge of her against her wish.
“Surprisingly, Ayodele videotaped them and threatened to blackmail the victim if she refused to have sex with him also. Ayodele went ahead and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her in the same room and on the same bed.
“Furthermore, the suspects forcefully booked an appointment with the victim to come back on January 21, 2022 for another round of sex or risk sharing her sex tape online.”
Abutu further disclosed that the suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation, adding that they would be charged to court soon.
