Punch alleged Kenya’s The Nation Media Group of reporting on its website on Monday that the discovery of Waeni’s head covered in sack, and wrapped in a purple blouse, shocked the community, and intensified the search for her killers as a result.
The arrested suspects were said to be residing illegally in the country as the passport of Opia’s has reportedly expired, while Asbor gave the excuse that he misplaced his travel documents two years ago.
The two Nigerians were said to have been arrested after the Kenyan detectives discovered them hiding in an apartment at Ndenderu, in Kiambu County which is close to where the deceased Waeni’s head was found. They were allegedly tracked by DCI Criminal Research and Intelligence Bureau through the use of leads and evidence collected from the Kasarani crime scene.

The items that were allegedly recovered from the hideout of the two Nigerians were a hatchet, a butcher’s knife, a Kenyan national identity card belonging to an unknown person, six mobile phones, three laptops, ten SIM cards and various other items.
Meanwhile, it was understood that the investigation team was seeking to obtain call data records for all the SIM cards and mobile phone numbers recovered from the suspected Nigerians to ascertain whether they were involved in the murder.
