Nigerians are rushing to download Virtual Private Networks in order to bypass Buhari’s draconian ban on social media sites, Twitter.
Nigerians, who anticipated the ban after Buhari’s civil war tweets were deleted, asked citizens to download VPNs in order to still access the microblogging site.
Those experienced in VPNs are already teaching others how to use them.
In the coming days, anxious Nigerians will be waiting as telcos and internet providers try to cut access to Twitter, an important communication platform for the elites in Nigeria.
Analysts say the Twitter ban means more businesses that depend on the site to thrive will go under as the ban takes effect.
Others say the ban may affect more foreign direct investment (FDI) into the country.
