From Gusau
The transition committee set up by the Zamfara state governor, Dr. Bello Mohammed has recommended the immediate suspension of the Zamfara state university, Talata Mafara due to the lack of capability of the state to sustain the institution.
This was part of recommendations contained in the Interim Report of the committee submitted to the governor today at the Government House, Gusau.

Presenting the Interim Report, the chairman of the committee, Malam Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad said though Zamfara state is the only state university but that does not mean that the state will go ahead to establish a university.
