Training Programme cancelled over Sagamu accident

The four Day training event organised by the Believing Women (Almuminat) has been cancelled due to the accident that claimed lives of seven members of the organisation.

The cancellation was announced by the National Amirah (President) of Al-Mu’minaat, Alhaja Nimatallah Abdul-Qadri, to mourn the dead members and condole with their families.

According to her, the cancellation was necessary to mourn their departed members while calling for understanding among members who came from various states for the event.

She said the association is doing all it could to ensure the injured ones are taken to best facility Centre available for their treatment.

She therefore called for prayers for the deceased and the injured ones for quick recovery.

Recall a lone accident occurred a few metres away from Odogbolu junction along the Sagamu-Benin expressway.

The victims were traveling for a four-day training programme tagged Al-Mu’minaat Training Forum (ATF) at Vanguard Academy, Odosengolu near Ijebu-ode, Ogun State.

The annual training programme was organised by the national body Al-Mu’minaat (The Believing Women) Organisation.

The accident which involved a bus marked AGL 886 YD suddenly exploded with flames from the engine side, setting off chaos in the bus as the agonising passengers laboured to escape in vain.

The driver of the bus was said to have escaped the fire unlike the trapped passengers!
