Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in Kwara State, have busted a three-man robbery gang, who also allegedly raped one of their victims, a seven-month pregnant woman.
The incident took place in Woro village, Kaiama Local Government Area of the state.
NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Ayeni Olasunkanmi, in a statement , confirmed the arrest of the suspects, Ibrahim Ahmed, 20, Lawal Ibrahim, 25; and 19-year-old Mohammed Issa.
According to Olasunkanmi, the case was on July 5 reported at the NSCDC Woro Outpost.
The statement read, “The victims: a seven-month pregnant woman and her husband were allegedly attacked by the suspects in their house at Woro.
“The seven months’ pregnant woman was allegedly raped and some items were carted away by the assailants.”
The PRO added that one if the suspects, Ibrahim was arrested while trying to dispose of some of the stolen items.
Following interrogation, he confessed to committing the offence and implicated his accomplices, leading to their arredt.
Olasunkanmi also said the suspects have been charged to court for the offences.
