Teacher rapes 2 under-aged girls

Police in Ogun State have arrested a 33-year-old primary school teacher, identified as Akinsoku Love Olomi, of No. 10 Baba Esther area of Iyesi-Ota in Ado-Odo Local Government Area for defiling two under aged girls (names withheld).

The suspect, it was learnt, was arrested January 4, 2019 following a formal  complaint from the mother of one of the victims, one Jenifer, at the Onipanu Police Division.

Jenifer reportedly claimed the suspect, who lives in the same house with them, and a teacher in nearby private school, saw her daughter and her friend playing at the premises of the school and called them into one of the school’s classrooms.

According to Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident in a press statement issued, on Tuesday, “The suspect had allegedly given one of the victims money to go and buy biscuit and before her arrival, he had had carnal knowledge of the other girl with him.

“He then sent the one he had already defiled to go and buy another biscuit and he used that opportunity to defile the second one as well.

“On getting home, the mother of one the victims noticed the change in her daughter’s countenance which made her to question the girl.

“Upon the questioning, she revealed that it was Uncle Love as he is fondly called that tampered with her private part.”

Upon the report, the DPO Onipanu Division, SP Soganbiyi Johnson, led his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested.

The police spokesperson said upon interrogation, the suspect admitted having carnal knowledge of one of the girls, but he claimed that he only fingered the second one.

“The two victims have been taken to the hospital for medical examination.

“Meanwhile the Commissioner of Police CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Anti Human Trafficking and Child Labor Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for proper Investigation and prosecution,” the police spokesman said.
