Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Albasu Kunini, has resigned from his position.
Hon. Kunini was elected Speaker of the Assembly in December 2019.
His election followed the resignation of Peter Diah, the former speaker.
Kunini, who represents Lau state constituency, said his resignation is on personal ground, while he thanked members for their support.

In his place, the Member representing Zing state constituency in the Assembly, Hon. Kizito Bonzena, was unanimously elected as the new Speaker.
Hon. Bonzena was the Chief Whip of the House before he was elected.
