A newborn baby has reportedly drowned inside a well at Ruguzau in Takai Local Government Area of Kano State.
The strange occurrence was disclosed on Wednesday in a statement issued by Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, the spokesperson of the Kano State Fire Service.
”We received an emergency call at about 02:14 p.m. from one Sabo Ladan that a baby’s body was found floating in a well,” the statement read.
“We immediately sent our rescue team to the scene at about 02:18 p.m. On arrival our men found a newborn baby in the well,” he said.
He further said the baby was brought out of the well unconscious but confirmed dead latter, adding that circumstances surrounding the incident were under investigation.
