A sports enthusiast in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State, Nze Ferdinand Amanze says he would organize a football competition for youths in the oil producing communities of Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituencies.
He identified sports as one way to bring the youths together, keep them busy and make them stay away from criminal activities.
Amanze who spoke when he hosted members of the Niger Delta Media Forum at his Umuokanne country home said he has put all arrangements in place for the grassroots football competition.

“As we speak, I have procured all the necessary materials needed for the football tournament. We have the jerseys, boots and other kits in stock. I want to use the football tournament to empower the youths in this area,” Amanze said.
Amanze stressed that he would liaise with relevant agencies and individuals in the state to ensure a successful competition.
He enjoined the media, especially members of the Niger Delta Media Forum to throw their weight behind the competition assuring that their contributions would be appropriated.
