Six Police Officers, have been reported killed in the last 24 hours, in Rivers and Bayelsa States. Unidentified gunmen had on Monday, shot and killed two officers in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The Officers, it was learnt, were attacked at a checkpoint, when they were escorting a vehicle conveying money, in Ojoto.
The attackers, made away with their victims riffles and carted away undisclosed amount.
In another development, some gunmen, also attacked a Police Station, in Agudama Community, in Bayelsa State, around 2 am on Monday, killing four Police Officers, including a pregnant policewoman.
A community source alleged that the attackers, made away with riffles and ammunition, when they invaded the Station.
The attack, occurred few hours before the Rivers incident.
The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Nnamdi Omoni, noted that nine suspects had been arrested, in connection with the Rivers attack.
