Sit-at-Home over in Enugu – Gov. Mbah

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has declared an end to the weekly sit-at-home order in the state.
Recall that the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) had ordered the Monday boycott of business activities throughout the South East in protest against the continued detention of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
However, Governor Mbah has declared an end to the protest in Enugu State as from Monday, June 6, 2023.
The governor is of the view that the order had injured the creativity, entrepreneurship, and productivity of the state.

He said his government would dialogue with individuals with legitimate grievances in order to bring lasting peace and security to Enugu State.
Also, Governor Mbah had, during his first security council meeting at the Government House, in Enugu, appealed to President Bola Tinubu to release Kanu in order to expedite the process of national healing.
He had said, “I call on our newly sworn-in president, President Bola Tinubu, to actively work towards the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. We believe that his release will expedite the healing process that Nigeria currently needs. It will also demonstrate his administration’s willingness to extend a brotherly hand of fellowship to the Igbo people,” the governor said.
