The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has urged civil servants to always keep working for the peace, progress and unity of the nation.
Mustapha made the call at the Maiden Edition of the Merit Award for staff of Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation(OSGF) and its Agencies in Abuja.
The SGF, said the award ceremony was aimed at appreciating, encouraging and motivating hardworking officers in line with the Public Service Rules and the policy of this administration.
He appealed to civil servants not to relent in their efforts to promote peace and unity in order to move the country to the “next level in 2019”.
“I want to thank all the Permanent Secretaries, the Heads of the different Agencies under the OSGF for their unflinching support in the course of the year. The entire staff have all worked to make this year really rewarding.
“As we go into the New Year, I charge you all to continue the good work and even do better so we can move our nation to the Next Level,” he said.

He added that the Federal Government has delivered on all its promises to address issues of Security, Economy and Corruption though more work needed to be done.
According to him, 2018 has been a good year and we must return all glory to God, highlighting a few of the various achievements recorded in the course of the year.
“As the Secretariat of the Presidency, we have been able to keep the government functioning and delivering the change promised by President Muhammadu Buhari.
“With the approval of Mr. President, this Office coordinated the process of reporting on the status of implementation of decisions and policies of government by Ministers.
“Subsequently, the Cabinet Affairs Office produced a 1,042 page Compendium on Policies, Programmes and Projects approved by the Federal Executive Council from 2015 to 2017.
This is an historical compilation and reference material for all public officers and stakeholders,” he said.
Mustapha also mentioned the achievements of the Ecological Fund Office stating that from 2015 to date a total of 150 projects have been awarded, adding that 94 have been completed and commissioned.
Others, he said, are 15 projects have been completed and awaiting commissioning while 41 others are at different stages of execution.

He also highlighted the achievements of the National Identity Management Commission(NIMC), National Aids Control Agency(NACA).
Others are The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), National Hajj Commission and the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission and so on.
Also speaking at the event, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF) said the award was in line with the reward system of the office of the HCSF to recognise bravery and excellence in service.
Oyo-Ita who was represented by Mrs Didi Walson-Jack, Permanent Secretary Service Welfare Office, OHCSF congratulated the awardees said the award was a reward for hard work.
Also speaking, Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli, National coordinator SERVICOM congratulated the awardees and commended the SGF for service excellence.
She said that the award was to bring about healthy competition amongst agencies and members of staff to ensure quality service delivery.
The award was categorised into Junior and Senior categories from various agencies such as National Lottery Trust Fund, Federal Road Safety Corp, Servicom, Fiscal Responsibility Commission and National Identity Management Commission(NIMC) among others.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the junior category awardees were presented with plaques, certificate a grinding machine or washing machine and 100,000 Naira while the senior category received a deep freezer and 200,000 Naira.
The OSGF sports team that participated in the recently concluded Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) held in Lokoja, Kogi were also presented their One gold; five silver medals and four bronze medals that they won. (NAN)
