A Sexagenarian, Afolabi Taiwo, had reportedly committed suicide at his home on Akpofure Street, Adamo in Ikorodu, over alleged indebtedness and family row.
The deceased, a retiree of Five-Star Hotel in Lagos, was alleged to have taken a loan from a woman to execute a business deal.
Things however went bad as the business deal failed, leading to his inability to repay the said loan, whose interest had accumulated.
According to a resident of the area, Taiwo who gulped a liquid substance suspected to sniper insecticide over the weekend, left a suicide note on his bed.

The source said the deceased who had called his children together earlier, advising them to be patient with the issues of life and marry the right person, retired to his room where he drank the poisonous substance.
His lifeless body was found by his wife, who had gone to his room to check on him, hours after he did not come out of his room.
According to the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Elkana Bala who confirmed the case of suicide, “ We got the case of suicide reported, the corpse was recovered and has been deposited at the mortuary. Autopsy will be carried out to ascertain the case of death. We also recovered the said suicide note and investigation is ongoing. ”
