Senate President never described Kashim Shettima as APC Presidential candidate, says Fani-Kayode
A former Aviation Minister and now chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, has described as ‘false’, claims that Senate President Ahmad Lawan called APC presidential running mate, Sen. Kashim Shettima as the party’s Presidential candidate.
Mr. Fani-Kayode said Sen. Lawan at no time described Sen. Shettima as APC’s presidential candidate at a recent meeting as being speculated.
He was reacting to a tweet ascribed to the Senate President saying “Met yesterday with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress from Yobe State, including the presidential candidate of our great party, Senator Kashim Shettima.”

However, Mr. Fani-Kayode described the tweet as a fabricated lie.
In a tweet, Fani-Kayode said it was the handiwork of the opposition.
He wrote: “I really do wonder how desperate the opposition and their social media trolls can get?
“The tweet pictured below is a TOTAL fabrication and a BIG LIE.
“The Senate President NEVER referred to our Vice Presidential candidate, Sen. Kashim Shettima, as our Presidential candidate.
