The President of the Senate, Sen. Ahmad Lawan, has with immediate effect appointed Prince Omowumi Samuel Adebayo, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State as his Senior Legislative Aide.
The appointment which was with immediate effect was in a letter dated 17th February, 2020, and addressed to him by the National Assembly Directorate of Human Resources and Staff Development.

In his reaction to the development, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, Sen. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele profusely expressed his appreciation to the Senate President for the appointment of a close political associate of his and one of the most resourceful, dogged, reliable and highly courageous leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, to the exalted position.
While commending the new appointment, Bamidele stressed that the Igbemo Ekiti born Prince Omowumi has been in the trenches together with other progressive-minded political activists since the dark heinous days of military dictatorship in Nigeria and has proved his mettle as a seasoned professional, a consummate politician and a very consistent and loyal party man right from the days of the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD), the Action Congress, the Action Congress of Nigeria and up till this present era of the All Progressives Congress.
Speaking further, Sen. Bamidele described Prince Omowumi’s elevation to the exalted position as being a ‘well deserved promotion’, adding that more rewarding recognition and elevation are still on the way in appreciation of other party faithful and loyalists. He congratulated the government and people of Ekiti State under the able leadership of Governor Kayode Fayemi on the appointment of Prince Omowunmi Samuel Adebayo.
Bamidele re-assured his constituents that he remained committed to and is unfailingly working towards the fulfillment of his electoral promises to them during the electioneering process.
