Sanwo-Olu to commission landmark projects ahead 2nd term inauguration

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State will commission some landmark projects ahead of his and the deputy, Obafemi Hamzat’ s inauguration for second term in office.

The projects are part of the activities lined up for 11 days to celeberate the governor’s term in office.

According to Commissioner for Information and Strategy,  Mr Gbenga Omotoso, while addressing journalists at a briefing in Alausa to announce plans ahead of the inauguration, the projects are to be commissioned in Ajeromi/Ifelodun, Alimosho and Ikeja local governments.  Others are in Kosofe, Eti-Osa, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, and Surulere.

The project’s commissioning will take place on the 24th, 26th and 27th respectively.

Omotoso said the administration of Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat has delivered on it’s THEMES agenda in it’s first term ‘through the delivery of several life-impacting projects, social investments in our people as well as economic development of our dear State.’

He added the administration ensured that all abandoned and ongoing projects before the administration came on board were completed, while new ones were started and completed such as the completed  Blue Line Rail project and the ongoing Red Line Rail project that is nearing completion.

Other projects, according to him , were the completed 970 roads which includes 34 roads in Kosofe, Somolu, Victoria Island and Ikoyi, and  15 bridges. In Ojokoro, 31 roads were completed.

He also mentioned the  training of  18, 000 teachers under the EKOEXCEL programme, setting up of universities and construction of four Mother and Child Centres.

For the inauguration, other activities mentioned within the 11 days ahead of the event includes a youth carnival and robotic competition slated for May 21 which will be held at different locations of  JJT Park, Alausa,  Badagry Grammar School, Badagry, Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu, Muri-Okunola, and the recreation centre, Epe.

On May 23, a Public lecture will be delivered by Prof Adigun Agbaje, former Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan which will also include a book launch,  photo exhibition, and stage drama at Muson Centre, Onikan.

On May 27, there will be a novelty match to mark the  Children’s Day at the Police College, while there will be cultural display at Mobolaji Johnson Sport Arena, Onikan, on June 3
