Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into law.
The signing was done on Thursday at the conference room, Lagos House, Ikeja. Present were members of the state executive and members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on budget.
Tagged ‘Budget of Sustainability’, the N3,36 trillion budget is made of 62% capital expenditure and 38% recurrent.
Governor Sanwo-Olu promised 95% implementation of the budget and charged the Lagos civil servants to ensure positive implementation of the budget.
“I call for continued collaboration between the executive and the legislature. I call on Lagosians to join hands with us as we implement this budget. Your feedback will be valuable. There is no room for abuse in the management of our infrastructure. We will deliver a responsive government. I charged civil servants to deliver impressive implementation of the budget,” the governor said.
The Chairman, House Committee on Budget, Sahad Olumo-Lukman commended the governor for the budget saying it looks into the development of the state.
He added that the THEMES + agenda is well captured in the budget and expressed confidence Lagosians will benefit from its implementation.
The Chairman further revealed that the state Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, has surpassed N1trillion mark adding that this year’s budget was meticulously looked into by the House before it’s passage.
