Sanwo-Olu promises to make Lagos attractive for investors as Nigeria, European business communities meet

Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said his administration is poised to make the state attractive for foreign investors.
The governor spoke on Thursday at the opening ceremony of the 8th edition of the 2022 European Union and Nigeria Business Forum held at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island with the theme ‘Nigeria and the new economy.’
According to him, his administration will be relentless in pursuing initiatives that will not only seek to improve the ease of doing business; but also, those that will make the business environment more attractive for investors.

He emphasised that Lagos , as a strategic asset to the nation, carries much of the economic responsibility of the country and has the responsibility to lead Nigeria to social and economic prosperity.
The governor said Lagos is home to over 80% of Nigeria’s top food and beverages companies in Lagos and rank as the largest foodstuff market in Africa.
He enumerated some of the achievements of his administration to include the launching of the Agricultural Master Plan, the nearly completed 32-metric-tonnes-per-hour capacity rice mill, the ongoing construction work on Lekki Deep Seaport, among other activities.
Lagos, he added, will continue to be a key partner and ally of the European Union considering its status as a regional commercial, financial and industrial hub.
