Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday charged members of the 2019 Batch ‘B’ Stream II of the NYSC to be of good conduct in their respective places of primary assignments.
The governor, represented by Dr. Yusuph Jimoh, the Permanent Secretary, Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, gave the advice during the official closing ceremony of orientation course at the camp ground in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.
He said that the end of the orientation camp marked the beginning of the next phase of the service year and urged them to be “noteworthy”.
“It gives me pleasure to see a special breed of not just future leaders, but vibrant change makers who have been equipped and are ready to go out and deliver.
“I commend you for your good conduct during your stay here on camp as I have been reliably informed by the camp officials that you were well behaved.
“I believe that the trainings you received during the orientation, which ranged from the rigorous routines to professional and skill acquisition, would impact your life greatly,”Sanwo-Olu said.

Similarly, he told the youth corps members that the major objective of the NYSC scheme was to foster unity, peace and also fast track development.
“I want to enjoin you as you embark on the next phase of your national service year to be innovative and think of ideas that would solve the problems of the communities.
“You should avoid hate speeches and other divisive tendencies capable of provoking unrest and threatening the unity and peace of our beloved state and nation.
“I want to assure you that as a government, we will provide you the adequate security and welfare that will make your service in Lagos eventful and rewarding,” he said.

“It is heartwarming to inform you that the humility, discipline and patriotism exhibited by these young compatriots contributed immensely to the success of the orientation camp.
“I heartily commend every one of them and add that the Centre of Excellence is indeed blessed to have them.
“I also want to say a big thank you to our host, the people of Iyana Ipaja and Agege Local Government for ensuring a peaceful environment for the camp community,” Aroni said. (NAN)
