Nigerian Rope Skipping Federation has appointed a Lagos based business woman, Alhaja Shukurat Modupe Sanni as one of its matrons.
Giving reasons for the appointment, Secretary General of the Federation, Olusesan Olukoya said the body took the decision because of her philanthropy, grassroots sports development, employment creation and encouragement of youths to excel in their chosen profession amongst others.
He stated this when board members of the Federation presented her with an award of “Sports Excellence” and a plague to honour her as a matron of the Federation in her office located in Lagos.

The Federation scribe stated that it is rare to find such a woman in this part of the World who is so committed to sports development and expressed hope that rope skipping sports will benefit immensely associating with her.
“We’re proud to honour Alhaja Sanni for her commitment towards sports development in the country. This is a woman who employed many youths in her office and supports grassroots sports development.
“She also supported the Federation during our maiden international workshop and we decided that the best way to appreciate her is to make her our matron and honour her with “Sports Excellence Award”, and we look forward to a more fruitful relationship with her,” he stressed.
