The Rivers State Police Command has rescued 24 babies and four pregnant women from baby factory operating in Port Harcourt, the State capital.
The achievement was recorded by men of Eagle Crack, a unit of the state Police Command.
It would be recalled that the Eagle Crack popular known as E-Crack has been in news for weeks now following the alleged killing of an automobile mechanic, Chima Ikwunado and unlawful detention of four others tagged as Ikoku4.
Briefing newsmen on Wednesday, on the rescue of the babies and pregnant teenagers at the Woji town Port Harcourt, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni who represented the Commissioner of Police, disclosed that the operatives of E-Crack on reliable information stormed the area and achieved the success.
Omoni further disclosed that the pregnant teenagers are undergoing medication following their malnourished state on rescue.

Addressing newsmen, the State PPRO said: “On behalf of the Commissioner of Police Rivers State Police Command, CP Mustapha Dandaura, I wish to welcome you to the Headquarters of the Rivers State Police Command. I am delighted to have you here today, having not gathered like this for some time now but have decided to call you to share this breaking achievement by Men of the Eagle Crack, while we await the conclusion of the Investigation in the case of Chima Ikwunado and four others, where the CP will be expected to address you holistically.
“Today I am glad to inform you that Operatives of the Eagle Crack in a covert Operation yesterday 25/2/2020 at about 3:30pm burst a child Trafficking Syndicate at Woji in Port Harcourt, where twenty four Babies between the ages of 1 and 2 years and four pregnant Teenagers were recovered.
“The Babies and the pregnant Teenagers who are frail and malnourished are currently receiving medical attention at the Police Clinic, while Investigation is still on with a view to making more recoveries and bringing the masterminds to justice”.
However, he appealed to the public, particularly residents of the State whose babies are missing to come forward for identification and collection.
The Command enjoined residents of the state to increase their security consciousness by reporting any suspicious movement around them to the nearest Police Station.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mustapha Dandaura has appealed to the public to continue to have faith in the Command, as he is poised to sustain the existing peace in the State and will continue to remain professional and focused in the discharge of his constitutional responsibilities.
One of the rescued pregnant teenagers who simply identified herself as Queen from Biara community in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers state said she was taken to the suspected baby making factory by a friend who told her that the facility usually care for stranded pregnant teenagers until they give birth.
“Somebody living in our community brought me here because they use to take care of pregnant women till they deliver, and if the mothers want to take away their babies, or leave the facility and come back later to collect their babies, they can do so. Nobody forced me here and this is my first pregnancy.”
