The Chairman of Rider Lotto, Mr Ola Omotosho, has assured Nigerians that the firm will join others to reduce poverty and unemployment in the country.
Omotosho said this during the launch of Rider Lotto in Lagos on Tuesday, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
He said that the firm was poised to change the face of lottery business in the country in a positive way.
“Our aim is to alleviate poverty from the land. It is also our own contribution to the alleviation programme introduced by the Federal Government.

“Rider Lotto will achieve that aim by providing employment opportunities, educational grants and medical aids to those in need as part of its corporate social responsibility ( CSR),” he said.
He said that it would also operate within the ambit of the law.
He added, “As part of our corporate social responsibility, we have signed an agreement with the regulatory board to always plough 20 per cent of our takings back for the good cause.
“And this is the practice globally that every lottery firm must set aside 20 per cent of their total takings for CSR, ’’he said.
He also advised Nigerians to cultivate the habit of investing in regulated lottery, saying through that they will be contributing to national development.
Omotosho added that it would also help the people investing in it to have a life changing experience.
According to him,“Lottery has become a social culture that has positively changed the economic fortunes of several nations.
“These days, the lottery business has also gained acceptance as a growing source of special intervention fund for governments which continue to work out innovative sources of funding outside taxation.
“As part of our corporate social responsibility, we have signed an agreement with the regulatory board that our firm will always plough 20 per cent of our takings back for the good cause.”

Omotosho added that the firm’s category of games would include: Daily Million, Lucky Lady and Food Basket.
