The Federal Government has been advised to organise a stakeholder’s meeting that will re-work the nation’s educational curriculum so as to de-emphasise paper certificates.
Vice Chancellor of the Precious Cornerstone University (PCU), Prof. Kola Oloke, gave the advice, on Wednesday, at a Debate/Quiz organized for secondary schools in Ibadan by the University in conjunction with DOHAL, a humanitarian arm of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries.
He pointed out that the FG should saddle the stakeholders with the responsibility of repackaging the curriculum so as to make it to be in consonance with the reality on ground.
The University don canvassed that premium should be placed on the acquisition of practical skills as against paper certificates.

To this end, he said the PCU was making conscious efforts at de-emphasising paper certificates by ensuring students of the university are professionally trained on the courses of their choice.
This, the VC added, would make the students to become relevant to themselves and the society after graduation.
In the Quiz category, Stars Comprehensive College, Ibadan, carted home the first prize while Everbest College clinched the second position and Sunshine College, also in Ibadan, bagged the third prize.
For the Debate, Seed of Life, came first, Kings and Queens College, came second, while Olive Branch College, Ibadan, equally made the third position.
The programme saw hundreds of students from different secondary schools, in Ibadan, in attendance.
