Resign now, Kwara govt. directs political appointees seeking 2023 elections

All political appointees in Kwara State willing to seek elections have been directed to resign from their offices forthwith.
Those specifically concerned are the politicians who would be participating in the Primary Elections of their respective political parties in preparatory to the 3rd June, 2022 deadline for submission of candidates’ names to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

A statement signed by the Kwara State Secretary To The Government, SSG; Prof. Mamman Saba Jibril said; “In line with provisions of Section 84 (12) of the new Electoral Act, all Kwara State Government’s appointees seeking nominations for elective offices in the forthcoming primaries are hereby directed to resign.
“All resignation letters should be submitted to the Office of the Secretary to the Kwara State Government not later than 15th April, 2022,” the SSG stated.
