Sen. Olamilekan Adeola(APC-Lagos West) on Monday said he would continue to work assiduously for the good of the people of his constituency.
Adeola, popularly called Yayi, made the pledge in Ikeja while addressing his supporters and party faithful at a party he organised at his campaign office.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the senator organised the party to celebrate his re-election and appreciate the contributions of his supporters and constituents.
Adeola said he saw his re-election as another opportunity to serve the people and deliver more democratic dividends. He promised that he would fulfil all his electoral promises to better the lots of the people and facilitate more development to the constituency.

“Let me thank you, my supporters, those in the support groups and outside, for your contributions to my electoral victory. I also thank my constituents for believing in me and voting for me across the local government areas that make up Lagos West District.
I feel privileged to have gotten your mandate to serve the 14million people in Lagos West at the Senate again. Everyone wanted to represent the district in the Senate but you chose me because you believe in me, so I feel privileged.
I assure you that I will fulfil all my electoral promises to you. And in doing that, we will not discriminate against anyone or any part of the constituency. I will work harder to serve you and deliver more democratic dividends to justify the confidence reposed in me,” he said.
Adeola said he had kick-started empowerment programmes ahead of the start of the ninth Senate by training youths across the constituency on skills acquisition. He said the training which had benefitted many across the ten local government areas was aimed at reducing unemployment in the area.
“After training, we are giving beneficiaries support to start on their own. We are doing this to create jobs, because we believe it is better to teach people how to fish rather than giving them fish,” he said.
Adeola said he planned many other empowerment programmes soon to impact on lives in the constituency.

He said he would make himself more accessible to the people.
The Senator explained that by keeping an open house policy, he would be able to interact more with his constituents to address their needs.
He urged the people of the area to continue to support him, saying despite his limited constituency resources, he would ensure he touched as many lives as possible.
NAN reports that those present at the party were treated to lavish food, drinks and music.
The state Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mr Kehinde Bamgbetan; a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Mr Abdullahi Enilolobo; council chairmen, and clerics were among people present. (NAN)
