RCCG splashes N42b on corporate social responsibility in 4-yrs

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Worldwide has spent a whopping N42 billion on corporate social responsibility in the last four years, it is gathered.

This was revealed at the Christmas Day Let’s Go A-Fishing programme organised by the Apapa Family of the church with the theme: ‘Perfect Gift’.

The event was held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, in Surulere, Lagos State.

It was said that part of the funds went into road projects, healthcare, education, housing for the poor and feeding of the hungry and needy.

During the period, no fewer than 930,000 projects were executed by the church reputed to be the most globalized Pentecostal church in modern Christendom. The church said it has shared out over 209 million packs of food within the period, adding that through its daily feeding centres in Lagos Island and Ikorodu, it has impacted the lives of over 783,000 people.

As part of the Church’s gesture to demonstrate love and significance of Christmas, it announced the commencement of a number of welfare initiatives.

One of them is the Manna Meals, an initiative whereby an individual can purchase a pack of Jollof rice with meat for only N100.

The church also announced the establishment of the half price shops where every product is purchased at half the price.

RCCG said it has trained 26,000 hitherto hopeless and jobless persons mostly vagrants, upskilling them in different fields thus making them job creators rather than job seekers.

The church had been very active in the provision and promotion of good healthcare in recent years.

It has built and donated dialysis centres in Borno State, Abuja and other parts of the country.
