As the month of Ramadan progresses to its second phase in two days’ time, the Ekiti State Accord Party (AP), Basorun Reuben Famuyibo has reminded the Muslims across the country of the month’s importance as a period for sober reflection.
Famuyibo, who is preparing for governorship election of June 18 in the state seized the opportunity to felicitate with the Muslim Umah as they progress in this year’s Ramadan fasting, urging them to pray for the country to summon all her challenges.
While thanking the Almighty God for His special grace on all Muslims in Ekiti State, in particular and Nigeria in general, to witness the commencement of this year’s Ramadan and its progress so far asserted that, this season of denial is time for sober reflection for Ekiti Muslims and Nigeria Muslims to reflect on how to impact positively on their surrounding and fellow human beings.
The AP governorship hopeful made the statement in a release signed by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Olajide Omojolomoju, in which he insisted that Nigerians, especially Muslim faithful, should reflect on how to make the society a better place for all to live in.
Famuyibo, who also added that the month of Ramadan is a special month therefore called on Muslim faithful to put the nation and humanity first in all their dealings in the month when faithful seek Allah’s face virtually in all facets of our lives and when it is also expected that we move closer to Allah spiritually and abstain from all forms of vices.
His words: “Let me take this opportunity to admonish our Muslim brothers and sisters not to allow this Holy Month to be wasted, but to reflect on making our state and our nation a better place for everyone.

“On behalf on myself, my family and the Accord Party, I wish every Muslim a wonderful Ramadan fasting and pray that Allah will not only accept our Ibaadah, but also shower us all with the blessings embedded in the Holy Month of Ramadan.
“I pray that everyone who has started this Ramadan fasting will see it to the very end, Insha Allah.”
