Ramadan: Osun APC greets Muslims, urges prayers against Coronavirus

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged the entire Muslims and adherents of other religions in the state, and in Nigeria, to use this holy month of Ramadan to fast and pray earnestly for divine intervention on Coronavirus.

The prayer, according to the party, is a necessity for the county to triumph over the dreadful Coronavirus pandemic which is leading Muslims in the whole world into the Holy month of Ramadan.

This was contained in a statement issued from the party’s Directorate of Publicity, Research and Strategy, signed by its Director, Barr. Kunle Oyatomi, and made available to newsmen, on Thursday, in Osogbo, the state capital.

The party advised Muslims and entire people of the state to adhere  strictly to all government directives and measures adopted to curtail the dreadful Coronavirus which includes, closure of places of worship, social distancing, avoid handshakes, body contact, crowded places are parts of sacrifices, perseverance and understanding which the Islam teaches.

The party described this year’s Holy month of Ramadan as special and spectacular as it came in the time when Nigeria and all other countries of the world are wrestling and battling with the Coronavirus pandemic, calling on Nigerians to use the period to rededicate themselves to a life of total submission and faith in the Almighty Allah as well as rekindle the virtues of love, selflessness, forgiveness and brotherliness in all affairs.

While congratulating Muslims on witnessing the Holy month of Ramadan, the Osun APC admonished Muslims to turn their minds to the message of love and brotherliness inherent in the month of Ramadan, urging them to always be their brothers’ keepers especially in this trying time of economic and social lockdown.

“Ramadan Kareem,” the party greeted.
