PZ Cussons Nigeria PLC has signed Memorandum of Understanding with National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) to upgrade chemistry and chemical engineering laboratories in five federal universities in the country.
The collaboration is to support NOTAP in its efforts to domesticate technology and make relevance research of the universities to the needs of Nigerian industries.
Chief Executive Officer, PZ Cussons Africa, Mr. Dimitris Kostianis, said his company is committed to supply cutting-edge equipment to the five institutes based on their critical needs, assuring them of patronage in their research output.
Appreciating the efforts of PZ and NOTAP, the Vice Chancellors of the benefitting universities together noted that the equipment would go a long way to help raise their research capabilities and move them closer to the standards obtained in international research centres.

They said it would also enable them to further meet and surpass accreditation standards of the National Universities Commission (NUC), assuring that the intellectual asset are available in their institutions.
Benefitting universities are Federal University of Technology, Akure, Usmanu Danfodio University Sokoto, University of Jos, University of Port Harcourt and Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.
Over N500 million will be committed to the project. PZ Cussons Nigeria PLC had earlier executed similar projects in four universities and one research centre in the country.
These additional universities will bring the total number of support to ten under the NOTAP-Industry Research Laboratory Upgrade Project (NIRLUP).
