Residents of the South Eastern part of Nigeria have refused to join in the ongoing hunger protest as they go about their normal business activities.
Reports reaching The Nigerian Xpress Newspaper indicate that normal business activities are going on as no protest is taking place in all the six states of the region.
Since the hunger protest kicked off across the country on Thursday morning, the South East states of Enugu, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, Anambra are yet to witness any demonstration.
It is recalled that leaders of the Igbo both in Lagos and other parts of the country had directed their Igbo traders not to.join the protest.
They noted that past protest such as the EndSars in 2020 resulted in the loss of their businesses as their ships were looted.
They had also argued that the Igbo have always been accused wrongly of organising protests especially in Lagos State and therefore directed their kinsmen not to take part in the hunger protest.
