Two people were, on Tuesday, shot dead in Enugu, following a peaceful protest against the closure of businesses by the Enugu State Government.
The government had sealed up of some markets, shops a,nd banks for defiling its directives that they should stop observing the Sit-at-home order imposed by a faction of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The two victims were shot dead in Ogbete Market, as angry traders were protesting the closure of their business places by the government for not opening on Monday, which is a regular sit-at-home day.

The government had recently warned that it seal up business places that observe the Sit-at-home order.
However, the traders protested the government, saying they were helpless and should not be punished for the actions of IPOB.
The protest, which began peacefully, turned violent when non-state actors hijacked it, resulting in the death of the duo, and several others injured.
