Anthony Iwuoma
A professor in Jigawa State is in trouble as the High Court sitting in Birnin Kudu, Jigawa State, has handed down a five-year-jail term to him.

The don, Prof. Steve Uchella, alongside Boniface Afifa Oru, were found guilty of a three count charge of criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and forgery and consequently sent to prison by Justice Musa Ubale.

They were first arraigned on March 21, 2018, and pleaded not guilty to all three charges.

However, the prosecution counsel  called seven witnesses after which the judge held that the prosecution counsel had proved their case beyond reasonable doubt and convicted the accused accordingly.

Justice Umale sentenced them to three months’ imprisonment or a fine of N30,000 each for the offence of conspiracy while they both got five-year jail terms or a fine of N500,000 each for criminal conspiracy and breach of trust.
