Police uncover shallow grave where kidnappers buried famous businessman in Lagos

The remains of famous Anambra-born businessman, Chief Ignatius Odunukwe, who was allegedly kidnapped and murdered last December, have been found by the police.

The dead body of the deceased was found buried in a shallow grave at the Ajah Area of Lagos by policemen attached to the Zone 2 Police Command.

Preliminary Investigation by the police revealed that the suspected kidnappers who perpetrated the act had pretended to be real estate buyers.

The suspects who were identified as Arinze, Solomon, Cletus and Daniel Ibeaju, had allegedly lured the deceased to the Ajah area, where they stole his land documents worth over N900 million and murdered him in cold blood.

His body parts were dismembered and packed in a bag, before it was buried in a shallow grave in a forest in Ajah.

Confirming the arrest of the suspects, the Zone 2 Police Public Relations Officer, Hauwa Idris Adamu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police said the suspects will be paraded before newsmen on Tuesday, by the Assistant Inspector -General of Police in-charge of the Zone 2 Police Command, AIG Ahmed Iliyasu.
